Nothing says "yappy hour" like a good milk bone -- or milk stout, for that matter. If your canine friend enjoys an evening happy hour as much as you do, take your furry (and nonfurry) friends for a walk to Funky Buddha's Friends of Greyhounds fundraiser "Yappy Hour" event on Sunday. The Oakland Park brewery is teaming up with Friends of Greyhounds Dog Rescue, a volunteer, nonprofit organization based in South Florida whose mission is to provide retired racing greyhounds with a caring environment and loving homes. It is considered the final ray of hope for greyhounds that have no place to go after they retire from racing. The event will feature a raffle and prizes awarded to those who give donations. In addition, during the event, a $5 donation will get you a wristband that entitles you to a special happy-hour deal: $1 off all Funky Buddha drafts until 8 p.m.
"Yappy Hour" will take place Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Oakland Park brewery. The event is free and open to the public. The Funky Buddha brewery is located at 1201 NE 38th St. in Oakland Park; call 954-440-0046. For more information on Friends of Greyhounds Dog Rescue, visit facebook.com/FoGDogs.
