After all those botched English papers in high school, every time you rented the movie or bought CliffsNotes without even thinking of doing the actual reading, it turns out Shakespeare is cool. It defies all logic. The playwright whose name you dreaded in high school is actually totally badass, and you probably wasted more time figuring out a way to not read his work than to paying attention in class. One of Shakespeare's most LMAO-worthy plays, The Comedy of Errors, is coming to life at Sol Theatre in Boca. Written more than 400 years ago, The Comedy of Errors still tickles the funny bone with its familiar story line. The play circles around two sets of identical twins, with each pairing unaware they have a twin brother. One is a servant; the other has a higher status in the community, and as one would imagine from the title of the play, hilarity ensues. Mistaken identity is always funny when it's not happening to you, and Shakespeare is always a treat when you don't actually have to read it. The cast was recently in a running of Avenue Q, and it's safe to say this play will have fewer puppets but more punch. The Comedy of Errors opens Friday and runs through August 31. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for students. Group rates are also available. The Sol Theatre is located at 3333 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton. Call 561-447-8829, or visit eveningstarproductions.org.
