Sushi & Stroll

This summer's to-do list held so much promise: more sunset bike rides to the beach, more nighttime sea turtle sightings, more greenmarket visits, and so many more trips to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens -- specifically for its short-lived but much-loved summer Sushi & Stroll. Where else can locals roam around pristine historical Japanese gardens (Shinden, Paradise, Early Rock, Modern Romantic, and more) on a Friday evening, seeking out temporary moments of Zen with cold craft sake in hand and sushi in the belly? Nowhere else, people, nowhere! If you have missed earlier strolls, tonight's rain-or-shine event marks the last Sushi & Stroll of the summer. Show up at 5:30 p.m. to sip craft sake selections from Stacole Fine Wines and dig in at the Morikami's Cornell Café with items like vegetable gyoza, seaweed salad, sweet potato tempura, and sushi before hitting the garden trails. If outside proves too steamy, head inside the museum to view pieces from the museum's permanent collection focusing on folk art from the mid-19th to late-20th centuries. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Sushi and drinks are sold separately. The Morikami Museum is located at 4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach.
