A Nautical Night Out

If you love all things Fort Lauderdale and the traditional city events that make living in Broward County so unique, you might want to attend a special fundraising event known as the Founder's Dock, Dine & Dance party, now in its 20th year. Presented by the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, whose mission is to preserve and promote the history of greater Fort Lauderdale through education and research, this year's fundraiser dinner dance will honor Winterfest Inc. This nonprofit organizes a series of seasonal events that take place from October through December at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino each year. The annual Winterfest Boat Parade -- also known as the "greatest show on H20" -- will be celebrating its 43rd year, culminating the festivities with the water show on Saturday, December 13. To commemorate the Winterfest festivities, the historical society's exclusive Founder's Dock, Dine & Dance fundraiser on Friday promises to be an unforgettable night of dinner and dancing. The party will take place at one of Fort Lauderdale's most breathtaking venues, the Hyatt Pier 66 pier top, which offers panoramic views of downtown Fort Lauderdale and Fort Lauderdale Beach. The 20th-annual Founder's Dock, Dine & Dance event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Hotel & Spa in Fort Lauderdale.
