Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Well Go Entertainment announce the exclusive South Florida red carpet premiere of The Lookalike on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. Red carpet arrivals begin at 6:30 p.m. and the film will screen at 7:30 p.m. with a Q&A with cast and director and after party to follow. The exclusive premiere event comes a week ahead of the US theatrical release of the film on November 7, 2014. Additionally, the film will be available on digital HD platforms starting on November 11, 2014. “We’re extremely excited to give South Florida a sneak-peak at The Lookalike before it hits theaters and digital HD in just three weeks,” said James M. Wahlberg, Executive Producer. “With such a stellar cast and crew, many of whom call South Florida home, we couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate the film’s opening than with a fun-filled, star-studded evening here at home, at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.” The dark comedy crime-romance features an all-star cast that includes Justin Long, John Corbett, Gillian Jacobs, Jerry O’Connell, Gina Gershon, Scottie Thompson and Luis Guzmán. The Lookalike is directed by Richard Gray (Mine Games) who is currently in post-production on the thriller Sugar Mountain starring Jason Momoa, and is working alongside Mario Kassar on a new adaption of the world famous novel Audtition. Drug lord William Spinks has a curious obsession with Sadie Hill, and uses family friends Bobby and Frank (John Corbett and Jerry O’Connell) to get to her. But when Sadie’s death jeopardizes a major deal, Bobby and Frank set out to find a replacement – a lookalike – to fool Spinks. The dubious plan propels an ex-basketball champion, a deaf beauty (Scottie Thompson), an addict (Justin Long), and an aspiring actress (Gillian Jacobs) into an unlikely romance and a desperate quest to start over. “The moment I read the script I knew I had to be a part of The Lookalike,” said Steven Bauer of Ray Donovan, Scarface and Que Pasa USA fame, a native of Cuba who calls Miami home. “The caliber and diversity of talent both in front of and behind the camera made it extremely enjoyable to come to work every day and reminded my why I got into this business in the first place.” “It’s been a dream come true, the response to the movie and the brilliant actors that took a chance on us.” Said Gray. “We’re excited to get this rollin’ and thrilled to be able to bring this exclusive red carpet premiere event to audiences in South Florida who will get a chance to see the film before it’s released in theaters. The Lookalike is a testament to independent movies whose quality rivals that of a big studio picture and has the freedom to be as edgy as it wants.” The Lookalike opens in theaters and digital HD across the US on Friday, November 7, 2014.
