The Sea, The Wine, The Food

Delray Beach is quickly becoming known as the foodie capital of Palm Beach County. That’s evidenced by a growing number of new establishments hitting Atlantic Avenue, as well as a growing number of tasty food affairs. On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Delray Beach will host its third-annual Wine and Seafood Festival, showcasing local restaurants and internationally renowned wineries. The event takes place on the east end of Atlantic Avenue, beginning at the Intracoastal Waterway and extending east to A1A. This year, the festival is offering an expanded menu of seafood items, special wine and food pairing seminars (ticketed), live music, and art exhibits. New this year: two wine gardens featuring more than 20 varieties of wine; a Heineken Lounge located near the main stage where you can get samples dispelled by Heineken beverage models; and a new seating area provided by the Delray Beach Marriott where you can relax and listen to live music while imbibing at a full liquor bar. The focal point will be the pay-as-you-go food and drink, however, with top chefs from local restaurants and vintners from internationally renowned wineries onsite offering samples of their best dishes and wines. The 2014 lineup includes establishments like Nick’s Crab Shack, Coastal Crab Co., Taste and Tell, Boston’s on the Beach, and the South Beach Grill.
