Vojtech Kubasta showcase

This exhibition celebrates the centennial of Kubašta’s birth and showcases his pop-up and children’s illustrated books. Over 100 of his pieces will be displayed, ranging from fairy tales to books on counting, history, circus, technology and animals. The Amazing Vojtěch Kubašta will transport you to a place filled with wonder and magic. Born in Austria, Kubašta spent his childhood and adult life in Czechoslovakia. He lived in Prague where he studied architecture, designed puppet theater scenery and costumes and worked as a book illustrator and paper engineer. His illustrated books for children and adults featured an imaginative use of color that offered unexpected delights. Although Kubašta designed a wide variety of graphic materials, he is primarily known for his movable or pop-up books.
