Riding on the success of last week’s larg- est local gathering of people wearing ugly holiday sweaters (an estimated 700 hideous creations were attempted), Delray Beach is absolutely nailing it in terms of holiday spirit this year. Add the beaming 100-foot Christmas tree, the Santa cookie cruise, and the massive Menorah lighting and it’s hard to compete with these people for over-the-top holiday cheer. Tonight, Delray Beach is upping the ante of seasonal greetings once again with Screen on the Green — an outdoor double feature of How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) followed by The Grinch (2000). Woo Creative and the Buzz Agency will present the free holiday gathering. All you need to do is bring your own blankets, lawn chairs, popcorn, and beverages and get cozy around the four-story projection screen at Old School Square Park (51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach). There will also be a toy drive for the Miami Chil- dren’s Hospital Foundation that night. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate for the cause. Visit 100ftchristmastree.com. Showtime is set for 6:30 p.m.
