Since 2007, the Fort Lauderdale Bus Loop has become a local, time-honored tradition where partygoers can put down their car keys for the night and enjoy a festive time on wheels — heck, with free admission, even designated drivers are destined to have some laughs. Every four months or so, the Bus Loop invites the town of Fort Lauderdale to come party and bar-hop on its classy-looking trolleys. With eight total destinations throughout Himmarshee Street and Las Olas Boulevard, this bar-hop is much more industrious that the average Saturday-night drunken stumble. There is so much diversity too: From the tasty crafty cocktails at Crafti bar to the scrumptious appetizers at one of Las Olas’ newest dining hot spots, Fork & Balls, to the serious rips from the hookahs at Posh Lounge, each trolley stop offers a little something different. And the icing on the cake: All proceeds go to benefit magnificent local charities, including the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation, Jack & Jill Center, Covenant House Florida, Riverwalk Trust, and the Broward County Gator Club Scholarship Fund.
Hop aboard the Fort Lauderdale Bus Loop on Saturday. Check-in times are 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Tilted Kilt, located at 219 S. Andrews Ave.; or American Social, at 721 E. Las Olas Blvd., both in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $30 before the event or $40 at the door and come with one complimentary drink at each location. Visit busloop.org, or call 954-574-6000.
