More than 40 local restaurants will offer tastes of just about every cuisine in the nation at the 19th-annual Taste of the Nation: Fort Lauderdale, to take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at the Broward Convention Center.

Hosts include chef chairman James Dean Max of 3030 Ocean, Food Network chef and personality Ingrid Hoffman, MoJo TV Pressure Cook Ralph Pagano, and BIG 105 morning show hosts Paul and Young Ron. Proceeds from the event go to Share Our Strength's "No Kid Hungry" campaign, designed to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.

Among the participating restaurants are China Grill, III Forks, Joe's Stone Crab, OLA Cuba, Smith & Jones, Steak 954, and Allen Susser's new Delray Beach eatery, Taste Gastropub.

Tickets cost $90 in advance, $125 at the door. VIP tickets, which will get you into the center an hour earlier for a champagne reception, to hang with the celebs and take home a goody bag, cost $200 in advance and $225 at the door. To get 'em, go here.

And bring your appetite.
