I don't know about you, but I need a mid-week break, and a wine tasting sounds like the best way to get my drunk on while pretending that I'm A) continuing my gastronomic education and B) being all sophisticated and stuff. Here are three grape-flavored blowouts going on tonight that look like they might do the trick:

At Paradiso (one of my favorite Italian restaurants, in Lake Worth) from 6-7 p.m. Price is $30 and includes hors d'oeuvres and the undivided attention of Paradiso's sexy owner and sommelier. Yum yum.

At The Food Gang, owner (and longtime wine connoisseur) Patrick Charpentier is helping fellow xenophiles combat America’s predicted double-dip recession---or at least forget about it once a week---with free wine classes, every Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Featured are a variety of vintages from across the globe, selected for pairing with tapas prepared by new chef Paul Anthony Morello.
