The Hours: Monday-Sunday, 4-7 p.m.
The Deets: During City Oyster's daily happy hour (weekends included!), there isn't a drink in the house that isn't half-price. Anything you ask for -- including one of the delicious watermelon martinis -- is on special. The deals don't stop at alcohol, either. Selected appetizers, like the crab and spinach dip, calamari, and salt & pepper rock shrimp, are also discounted.
The Scene: City Oyster looks like it melded a bar, a restaurant and a nightclub together, maybe because the place serves as all three. Danny Andrews, who has bartended there for nearly a decade, says that City Oyster is perfect for pre-gaming to barhop along the rest of the avenue. Despite the long line of other hotspots in downtown Delray, it's hard to imagine why anyone would leave this comfy but classy hangout, even post-happy hour.
The Cost: Watermelon martinis usually cost $11, so getting one for $5.50 is quite a delicious deal. Selected appetizers start at $5 and all three I mentioned earlier are worth getting. No, seriously. Get them all.The Verdict: Since City Oyster seems to welcome every single type of person, I wouldn't feel bad if I brought my grandmother one day, and a boyfriend the next. Especially since the Happy Hour is daily!
