Do you hear a chorus of angels singing "Hallelujah"? If so, it's because Starbucks has announced that it will start selling wine and beer in select markets, according to the Seattle Times.
According to the article, Starbucks has been serving beer and wine at a few Seattle locations. Starbucks got the idea after turning a coffeehouse that sold beer and wine into a Starbucks. It decided to keep the inventory. Another Starbucks in Portland sells beer and wine as well.
The plan is to start small. Starbucks has plans to sell beer, wine, and
small plates like almonds and bread with olive oil dip at five to seven
stores next year in Chicago, which will serve as a test market.
No word yet whether South Florida Starbucks locations will start selling
beer and wine, but if the company is researching beer consumption by
city, we should be seeing it in our local Starbucks any day now.
