It's Wednesday evening, the kids are already restless from less than two weeks off from school, and it's too hot to cook. We suggest packing the family in the car and taking them to Village Commons in West Palm Beach for the Gourmet Food Truck Expo to benefit Project Ship Foundation tonight, June 13.
From 6 - 9:30, nearly two dozen trucks will be on hand to cater to your entire family's eating whims -- from a cool Greek salad for mom at Chef on 4 Wheels to an authentic hot Italian sausage direct from Little Italy for dad from Guiseppe's Italian Sausage.
For dessert, there's everything from homemade pie from Fireman Derek (we like the Key lime pie on a stick) to cupcakes from Divan Bakery and Dolce Gourmet Cupcakes.
Plus, you can be the first kids on your block to check out south Florida's first self-serve frozen yogurt truck. Joji Frozen Yogurt marks its official grand opening tonight, rolling out with flavors like dark chocolate and peanut butter.
Tonight's food truck roundup benefits Project SHIP Foundation, an organization that helps middle school and high school students learn leadership, citizenship, and entrepreneurship skills.
