• Get ready for posh Mexican cuisine on the beach. Upscale cantina Dos Caminos will move into the newly renovated Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel this November, bringing with it the slick, modern vibe of its New York and Las Vegas counterparts. Expect authentic dishes like lamb barbacoa and cochinita pibil as well as gussied-up Tex-Mex fare such as guacamole, enchiladas, and tacos. Entrées will run from $12 to $28, and a full bar will serve custom margaritas and a wide range of tequilas. The restaurant will be open seven days a week for brunch, lunch, and dinner. We'll have more on Dos Caminos next week on the blog.

• The first Whole Foods Market opened up in Austin, Texas, 30 years ago.

To celebrate, the Coral Springs location of the supermarket chain is

hosting a Big as Texas Birthday Bonanza from noon to 4 p.m. on

September 19. Stop by to catch the Grant Piper Band featuring a tribute

to Stevie Ray Vaughan until 2 p.m., Pin the Tail on the Donkey for kids

at 1:30 p.m., tasting of a custom Texas-shaped cake at 2 p.m., and a

Wild West Food Showdown at 3 p.m. Each department will also create a

dish inspired by the Wild West, and customers will get to vote for the

overall favorite. Call 954-753-8000.

City Cellar Wine Bar & Grille is getting in on the end-of-summer

specials with Wine Down Mondays. All day long, guests will get half off

all bottles of wine under $99 with the purchase of an entrée. With a

broad wine list featuring bottles as low as $20, that can make for a

pretty cheap time. Happy hour is still in effect from 4 to 7 p.m. too,

featuring two-for-one on all drinks and a selection of half-priced

appetizers, salads, and pizzas including pan-seared lump crab cake, mussels oreganata, iceberg wedge salad, and pizza portobello (in the bar

only). Stick around late from 10 p.m. to midnight Sunday through

Wednesday and 10:30 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday for two-for-one cocktails and $5 pizzas (bar only).
