The remaking of Todd English's Wild Olives into the English Tap & Beer Garden (5050 Town Center Circle, 561-544-8000) will be unveiled for all to see this Friday when the upscale, quasi-German "biergarten" opens its doors in the tony Shops at Boca Center.
Taking over the next-door space (the original Wild Olives space will become Brio Tuscan Grill), ET&BG will feature indoor seating for 120 and outdoors for 130, plus indoor and outdoor bars, a DJ and live music. It will also pour some 30 beers on tap with another 60 or so by the bottle.
Chef Ken Stevens, formerly with Wild Olives, will be dishing all the
usual pub-grubby suspects, from burgers and sliders to bangers &
mash, as well as more contemporary offerings like wasabi tuna, Asian
chicken salad, an assortment of flatbreads and panini, and items from a
daily raw bar.
The restaurant has already announced a full
lineup of specials, beginning with a daily happy hour with half-priced
drinks and $5 appetizers and continuing with a $12.99 prime rib dinner
on Monday and Thursday, two-for-one flatbreads and brewskis on Tuesday,
and $2 sliders and beers on Wednesday.
