Though some last-minute changes were thrown in the mix, the Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle forges full-steam ahead tonight with beefy offerings from local restaurants and burger experts. (Read about the changes here.) To give you a sneak peek of what to expect from tonight's entrants, Clean Plate Charlie reached out to participants via email to ask about their offerings and qualifications. After the jump, find previews from those restauranteurs who replied in time for the deadline. From the sounds of it, attendees can expect one hell of a meaty throw-down.
America's Backyard
The burger: The America's Backyard burger, which the restaurant describes as "a twist on our gourmet slider. The burger is specially seasoned and topped with a chutney of cucumber, onion, tomato, yogurt dressing, and accompanied with Mirchi sauce."
The Capital Grille
The burger: "Our offering, a twist on The Capital Grille's signature cheeseburger, will be made with black Angus beef and topped with havarti, slow-roasted roma tomato, and Meyer lemon truffle aioli."
Charm City Burger Company
The burger: Good ole with bacon, pickle, tomato, and charm sauce.
Duffy's Sports Grill
The burger: A certified Angus beef slider on toasted brioche with shaved pastrami, creamy coleslaw, cave-aged gruyere, and banana pepper mustard. Served with hand-cut Gold Dust Farms Parmesan reggiano and truffle oil fries.
Elevation Burger
The burger: A black Angus burger "prepared in the sassiest way, as only Rosie could. All of Rosie's burgers are named after her closet friends, and this entrant is no different. (Tonight) Fort Lauderdale will be introduced to 'Anita Mojito,' Rosie's newest and campiest Cuban friend. Anita Mojito is full of those Cuban flavors you love; crisp pickles, gooey cheese, roasted ham, and some bold island spices."
