No reason for the sudden shutdown, but the Lake Worth Soma remains open.
• Is tequila the next vodka, which was the next single-malt scotch? Oh, who gives a shit. But there is a cool tequila dinner coming up at Cantina Laredos in Hallandale Beach and Palm Beach Gardens. It's a four-course meal featuring three tequilas (1800, Gran Centenario, and Maestro Dobel Diamond) set for 7 p.m. Thursday, September 9. Cost is $49.99 per person, and it's best if you get on the horn and make rezzies.
• From the Versace mansion to South Shores Tavern in Lake Worth, that's the journey for newly arrived chef Joe Angelucci, who's taken over the kitchen at the downtown bar/eatery/live-music spot and whipped up a new menu. Looks like pulled pork quesadillas with house-made chipotle barbecue sauce, pan-seared ahi with wasabi and pickled ginger, and meat loaf with garlic smashed potatoes have all washed up on shore.
