No 83. Fagottini al Tartufo Bianco e Nero from Apicius Ristorante e Enoteca

At Apicius, nothing is simple. Not even the pasta.

But that's what happens when everything you get is made fresh to order. Sure, it makes for a costly dish and a lengthy wait -- but it's also some of the best food to be plated in South Florida.

This holds especially true with our must-have pick, the restaurant's own creation of handmade porcini- and buttercream-filled pasta purses -- a deadly combination of imported ingredients and old-world authenticity compliments of Florentine owner Leopold Balistrieri. From his expansive French and Italian fusion menu, this dish represents the best of both culinary experiences, at once rich and decadent while hearty and filling.

But be warned: This pasta dish is not for the health-conscious calorie counter. Each bite is an artery-clogging, creamy indulgence brought to you via soft sacs of fresh-cut pasta and served in a bath of fragrant, earthy cream sauce, then topped with fresh-shaved black truffles ($33). The end product: a fattening taste of heaven.

Whether it's lunch at the fire pit, dinner on the outdoor dining room, dessert at the piano bar, or a digestif at the cigar bar, Apicius is one dining destination you don't want to pass up.
