No. 38: Surf and Turf Roll from Nectar Lounge

The sushi bar inside the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino's Nectar Lounge has put out

some interesting dishes, like rare farm-raised Kindai tuna and dessert

sushi with fruit. But the surf and turf roll has us coming back for

more. The straightforward concoction is packed with Florida lobster

and topped with

slivers of beef tenderloin that have been put to a kitchen torch. The

seared

tenderloin on top is a fab finish, and

additions of asparagus, avocado, and a sweet eel sauce round out the

flavors. At just $13, this roll is a steal

and seems well-suited for the environment -- high-rollers sit at

the sushi bar and scarf these like candy, as do slot jockeys watching

the

cover bands play on Nectar's main stage.
