The delightful music festival on the high seas that was the subject of a New Times cover story earlier this year has returned! The second Bruise Cruise Festival sails February 10-13 next year from the Port of Miami to the Bahamas and back, and this time 520 bruisers are invited for the voyage. No word if they've raised the railings on the Carnival Imagination to keep the instruments out of the water.
New acts joining the fold for BC2 include feisty indie kids the Soft Pack, garage-rock extraordinaires the
Dirtbombs, and alt-comic Neil Hamburger. Stars from last year's cruise Thee Oh Sees, Quintron and Miss Pussycat, and DJ Jonathan Toubin will return.
For returning Bruise Cruise passengers, who can enjoy a 10 percent discount on their bookings for this coming year, an interior cabin runs $615 per person (normally $695), and exterior cabins cost $680 (normally $750).
Keep checking at bruisecruisefestival.com for more details. An official lineup announcement is expected May 9. Book tickets at [email protected].
