Soulful, sultry and 100 percent heartfelt, Lizette Santana's music is as much a product of her upbringing as her very personality, and it seems almost as though the two are one and the same. Her recently released debut album Aun Sueño En Ti (I Still Dream of You) is a bilingual work crafted from what she calls "a bicultural fabric and rich musical palette." The palette is evident, displaying glimmers of her influences ranging from Tori Amos to Isabel Pantoja, Sarah Mclachlan to Rocio Durcal and The Beatles to Juan Luis Guerra. She credits her father for her rather vast musical horizons.

And hers has been a lifelong pursuit of music. She began singing at the age of 9 and at 16 won her third state award in the National Guild Piano Playing Recitals. A year later she received Honorable Mention in the preliminaries for Star Search and at 19 she entered Berklee. From there she moved to NY, where she gigged around town, before finally making her home in Miami, where she continues to gig actively.

In fact, you can catch her emotion-laden pop/rock/folk ballads live and direct at Santo (430 Lincoln Road) tonight starting at 10pm.
