The prospect of driving up to Clematis,

finding parking and then wading through a bunch of stripy shirts and

Ed Hardy ensembles isn't that attractive, especially on a Tuesday,

unless, of course, one is heading to Respectable St. to see a damn fine show. In

this case, Anti-Nowhere League is coming stateside for a summer

holiday on July 14. This is a band whose name might trigger a memory

of an old tape you might have gotten from someone's older brother

when you were a kid. If you don't know, or can't remember, they are

an evolving musical collection of punkers from England always headed

by the sometimes controversial Animal who sing the songs about

drinking and living that you can sing along to. They have been doing

it since the 80's and they still do it better than most. - Dominic
