Babe-fronted, Delray-based A Hunter's Pace has churned out aggressive indie rock energy for less than a year, and already the band is garnering attention for both an earnest vitality and vocalist Sheila Hafsadi's adorable stage presence. You'd be lucky to catch them at Respectable Street this Saturday. It's a bummer how relatively unGoogleable they are at this point because, to paraphrase our well-loved Courtney Hambright via Moodvane, they've got a bunch of great tracks yet to be released in recorded form. A Hunter's Pace creates simple, cute accessible pop songs, but with a wide enough range of styles to highlight musicianship -- Hafsadi's voice in particular.
Their former drummer, Paul Simundich is now focused on Goolsby,
also set to shred Respectable Street's backyard with their especially
danceable pop-rock. "Wild Once" sounds good in demo form and, one can
imagine, even better live. No Goolsby because drummer Jeff Rose is playing with his other band, Stonefox over at Propaganda the same night. Look for an interview with Goolsby on County Grind later this week.
