Flo Rida does it all: International recording artist, fitness guru, muscle supplement spokesperson, and duh, philanthropist.
This Carol City native and Broward resident has no problem showing off his opulence when he's out in public or performing on stage, but when it comes to giving back to his fans and the community, he steps up to the plate.
This Saturday, August 17, the feel-good rapper will play a free concert at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach as part of his annual "Back 2 School Fest."
The concert festivities are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the south entrance of the Gulfstream property, where Flo will also be joined by "athletes and his celebrity friends." The "Back 2 School Fest" weekend also includes a private bowling event and football jamboree.
In association with Gulfstream, International Music Group, and Strong Arm, the whole to-do is presented by Flo Rida's two nonprofit organizations, Big Dreams for Kids and the Florida Youth Football League (FYFL), who are aiming "to empower children and get them excited about the upcoming school year."
Gulfstream will also host its usual program of live Thoroughbred racing and simulcasting on Saturday beginning at 1:15 p.m., and Flo Rida will present the winning trophy after the feature race, before the "Back 2 School" concert.
Parking and admission are free.
