Dissever brings sweet technical sensibilities to thrashy metal that is as heavy as it is proficient. Around for a while now and relatively under the collective radar of South Florida, this band prides itself on its skills but does not get bogged down by them. I'm thinking of days gone when Cynic ruled the metal landscape down here and kids who dreamt of breeding Dream Theater with Steve Vai in their parents' garage never got beyond the ground floor.

At least these guys know what they're doing and they do it well.

O'Malley's Sports Bar in Margate boasts some fairly ludicrous specials like the ten dollar pitcher of booze, which I will not believe until I see it. Regardless of what you imbibe or how much you spend, the evening will round itself out with the doom-savvy roster of heshers joining Dissever on stage. From the Black Sabbath-inspired to the just plain aggressive; My Amends and Dirty Habits will make sure you get home feeling like you went through something and that's a good thing.
