As the music industry and world mourns the untimely death of music
legend Whitney Houston, it's been reported that tonight at the 54th
Annual Grammy Awards various performers will pay tribute to her.
Whitney
Houston herself is no stranger to being on stage at the Grammys. With a
career spanning over four decades, she went on to receive 26
nominations and performed a total of 7 times.
In 1986, a 22-year old Whitney Houston took the stage, making her Grammys debut with a stunning performance of "Saving All My Love From You".
As we remember one of our generation's greatest voices on the eve of
the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, we look back on some of the highlights
from Whitney Houston's award ceremony performances.
5. "Greatest Love of All" (1987)
Following the success of her debut performance, Whitney Houston was asked back the following year to perform as she was also nominated for Record of the Year. Once again knocking it out of the park, Houston received a standing ovation.

"I Wanna Dance With Somebody" (1988)
Back for yet another year in a row, this time Whitney Houston was nominated for three awards, taking home one for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance. Kicking things up a notch from her usual ballads, Whitney brought along her back up dancers and tour band for a more uptempo performance.
3. "One Moment in Time"
(1989)
In 1989, Whitney Houston opened the 31st Annual Grammy Awards with a flawless rendition of her nominated song "One Moment in Time". Backed by a live orchestra, this performance not only received a standing ovation but will send goosebumps down your spine.
2. "I Will Always Love You" (1994)
At the 36th Annual Grammy Awards, Whitney Houston made it back to the stage with heavily nominated song "I Will Always Love You" from The Bodyguard Soundtrack. She took home three awards including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

In 1994, Whitney Houston took the stage with fellow music legends Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, CeCe Winans, and Brandy for a medley performance from the Album of the Year nominated Waiting to Exhale Soundtrack. It was one of the most memorable performances of the night and received a much deserved standing ovation.
