"Who says I can't get stoned?" in action: John Mayer proclaimed that he would wear his Cleveland Cavaliers jersey during his September 11 performance in West Palm Beach. One of the blogs at our ribald sister paper in Miami noticed, and
expressed understandable displeasure.
Well, he sorta did it anyhow. According to
New Times reviewer Jose Flores, Mayer instead attempted to please everyone: "Without really keeping or really breaking his promise, he donned a half-a-Heat jersey sewn together with half-a-Cavs jersey." Now confirmed in this photo below, half of his heart is still in Cleveland, but the other half is draped in a black LeBron James Miami jersey. Doubtful that this glad-handing move will inspire American Airlines Arena to play "Heartbreak Warfare" before Heat games this year.
