Pool Party Offers Two New Songs, Headlines "Xmas in July" on Friday

Miami's Pool Party -- a band that is not from Iceland, but is just fucking huge there -- has released two new songs. Fitting to accompany any "cannonball!" cry, they further propagate the group's odd humor, complete with wildly convincing foreign accents.

Aside from frontman Creep Guirdo constantly sending County Grind unsolicited blog pitches via flaming bags of poo arranged in complex HTML code formations in the New Times staff parking lot, this has been the first time we've heard anything from the guys since the "Sperm Bank USA" video in April. With the Xmas in July event looming for Friday at Churchill's, the gifts come forth in the form of a pair of new recordings.

The first track on the new demo, entitled "Teenage Weirdo" shows a softer side of our party monsters. Softly sung over a simply, strummed guitar riff, the song touches on fond high school memories, such as getting pussy, holding hands, and awkward thoughts about girls and how their hair smells.

The second track is a live recording. Entitled "She Love Dick," it fully captures the energy given off at their shows. The song itself deals with being in love with a woman who loves dick. Concise, direct and to the point, we feel it is totally relatable. An ideal situation to be in, really.
