Miami's techno heads are hardly out of options tonight with internationally renowned DJ/producers Simon Baker and Todd Bodine in tow at Grass and the Electric Pickle, respectively. SAFE's Art Basel special at Grass last weekend, featuring Radio Slave and Argy, seemed to mark the resurgence of the Design District lounge as an EDM hotspot -- the Unmute crew (of techno Saturdays at Space) and Simon Baker will be taking over Grass this time around. And it's just business as usual at the Electric Pickle, of course, where Friday nights have been a haven for the sounds of Berlin techno all year.

Simon Baker has enjoyed a steady ascent to international fame in the last couple years through a slew of infectious releases on top labels like Cocoon, Get Physical, and his own Infant imprint. As a DJ in the '90s Leeds and London club scenes, Baker honed his skills on the decks while warming up a decade's worth of clubgoers for his future incarnation as a producer. His big break came in 2004 when debut track "The Liptrick" made it out on Ralph Lawson's esteemed 2020 Vision Recordings and ended up on compilation mixes by the likes of Damian Lazarus and Tiefschwarz. Moving into 2009, Baker is one of the most sought-after DJ/producers in the international techno scene, with a firm grasp on what makes people get down on a dancefloor.

DJ/producer Todd Bodine is a veteran of the Berlin techno scene and a long-standing resident of the esteemed Tresor and Panorama Bar nightclubs. Since the early 2000s he has emerged as a prolific producer with critically-acclaimed releases on the Highgrade, Morris Audio, and Mothership imprints. As of 2007 he has performed live, both solo and in a big band format, imbuing his performances with a unique organic sound to enhance a nuanced and melodic production style. Todd Bodine will be joined tonight by LINK resident DJs Maurizio & Danyelino for what is sure to be another memorable late-night session in the Electric Pickle's upstairs room.

Todd Bodine at Electric Pickle. Friday, December 11. 11 p.m.-5 a.m. 2826 N.

Miami Ave., Miami.
