What to Do in Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach County This Weekend Under $10

Time to go out and celebrate! Again! The first weekend in any new year is usually the most low key. Folks are still a little drunk from last week's debacles. But, it is your duty as a member of this cultural community to set the tone for the year ahead and get this party started.

Nercore Fandom Group Art Show. Friday, January 4, 7 p.m., at Ink and Pistons Tattoo and Art Gallery, 2716 S. Dixie Hwy., West Palm Beach. Admission is free. Calling all lovers of Star Wars, comics, cartoons, and video games, this is the art show for you. Exploring themes of all things geeky, this is no time to hide your inner nerd. Everymen and Sunset Tattoo Parlor Pop Up Gallery. Saturday, January 5, 10 p.m., at the Green Room, 109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Admission is free. Hailing from Lake Worth, punk folk rock band Everymen puts on a live show that is not to be missed. All we'll say is that it usually includes fire. Taking over the gallery will be Miami's Sunset Tattoo Shop. 

Gurty's Art Show. Saturday, January 5, 6 p.m., at the Bubble, 810 NE Fourth Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $10. Returning for his second solo show at the Bubble, South Florida tattoo artist Gurty has all new work to feast your eyes on. By day, he can be found leaving his permanent mark at Rock-a-Billy Tattoos, and by night, he creates art with acrylics, oils, pastels, and gouache.
