Let's just put this out there first: Lady Gaga is a hack who thinks she's doing the world a favor by making an "artistic statement." Sorry, her music and performances are about as artistic as something our 5-year-old niece drew. We'd just like her to admit she's doing straight-up commercial pop music and stop trying to pass herself off as revolutionary. Madonna and Britney Spears are entertainers and they know it. It's time Gaga realize she's in the same category.
Want to see Lady Gaga on NYE? It's going to cost you -- a lot.
Anyway, you probably already know the pop star has two performances scheduled at the James L. Knight Center on December 31 and January 2, along with local boy Jason Derulo and Semi Precious Weapons, who replaced Kid Cudi after he was allegedly dropped from the tour for punching a fan in Vancouver. Well, Miami is about to overdose on the eccentric star because she's also scheduled to do her thang -- whatever that is -- at the Fontainebleau for New Year's Eve.
Along with DJs David Berrie and Jus Ske, Gaga will perform live and manage countdown duties at the famed hotel. But here is the sticker price shocker: General admission tickets are selling for $425, although it does includes open bar from 9 p.m. to midnight, if that helps. The VIP experience starts at $4,950 and goes as high as $25,000. Jesus, for that money, you can put a down payment on a house or buy an imported car. Does that mean the recession is over?
After the jump, Gaga's video for "Bad Romance," which we admit is sort of catchy.
