UPDATE: Shelby's police report revealed that he was kicked out of Off the Hookah for touching women without their permission. Fort Lauderdale Police have since released surveillance video of Shelby's encounter with the authorities.
Miami Dolphins defensive end Derrick Shelby was arrested early Saturday morning at Off the Hookah in Fort Lauderdale.
According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Shelby was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest without violence -- both misdemeanor charges -- after allegedly causing a disturbance at the nightclub.
Shelby's mug shot shows cuts and bruises covering his face. Daniel Rosenberg, Shelby's agent, alleges the injuries were caused by police.
"There was no report of a fight or anything like that," Rosenberg told Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post. "The only place the bruising can come from is from the police. I don't want to get into that too much. When you see charges of resisting without violence and you see photos like that, there's a lot of conflicting information."
According to police, Shelby was asked to leave Off the Hookah, located at 111 SW Second Ave. in Fort Lauderdale, after causing some kind of disturbance at 2 a.m. Sunday. But Shelby refused to leave and was taken into custody by police.
He was released on bond hours later. Rosenberg says Shelby will plead not guilty.
There is no word if the Dolphins will discipline Shelby in any way, but the team released a statement Sunday morning saying it's "gathering information" on the reported incident.

The Dolphins are on their bye week this season.
This is the second nightclub incident a Dolphins player has been involved with this season.
In July, center Mike Pouncey and his twin brother were accused of assaulting Miami man at a South Beach nightclub. Pouncey was never charged, though the victim threatened to sue.
