This may come as a bit of a shocker, but a new poll shows that almost half of Florida voters think Gov. Rick Scott is doing a bad job.
The survey, conducted by Quinnipiac University, found that the number of Floridians who disapprove of Scott's job performance has more than doubled from 22 percent in February to 48 percent in the poll released today. Fifty-three percent think his proposed budget is unfair to them, 47 percent say that his budget cuts go too far, and 55 percent disapprove of the way Scott is handling the budget.

student performance on standardized tests. But 78 percent approve of
Scott's executive order to drug-test all state employees.
Scott is especially unpopular among women. His approval/disapproval numbers with female voters are 26/55, while he scored 45/41 among men.
"Today, Scott is a four-letter word to many Florida voters, but political popularity can change with time," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of polling at Quinnipiac. "The experience of Scott's predecessor, Charlie Crist, who had 70 percent approval ratings at this point in his tenure, shows how fickle public opinion can be."
