Running a congressional campaign against a (partially) well-liked incumbent is a tough task, which typically leads to some more-outlandish or extreme campaign tactics.
As an example, here's the new website started by former West Palm Beach Mayor Lois Frankel, who hopes to take on Rep. West in 2012 -- westhateswomen.com.
As part of the ongoing feud between West and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz over the infamous House floor comments by Wasserman Schultz and the more-infamous email from West, Frankel has found a way to butt in to the situation.
West has already made it clear he's not apologizing -- which we're pretty sure he's going to stand behind.
Still, Frankel demands that he does apologize -- with a twist.
On the website, she says that the people would know if an apology were serious only if West also donated $1,000 to the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence:
Allen West Doesn't Respect Women.
He votes to deny us access to healthcare. And, then West insults one of us with the lowest possible insults. This man has a problem with women. Demand an apology. And, demand he donate $1,000 to the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence to show he's serious!
And while the left-leaners have been saying that West's email is part of his ongoing attack against women, West's response -- which is probably just as ridiculous as the misogyny claims -- is that he's being attacked for his race.
"I'm a threat because I'm the guy that got off of their 21st-century plantation," West said on conservative talk radio Mark Levin's show last week.
Regardless, if you're on the "West hates women" side of things, they're sending the petition over to West on Friday.
And he's still not going to apologize.
