George Zimmerman Won't Face Charges for Threatening Wife With Gun

Hey. Whaddaya know. George Zimmerman gets to go free. Again.

Despite apparently pulling a gun on his wife, Shellie, and allegedly threatening her and punching her father, charges won't be pressed against George Zimmerman.

According to Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell, Shellie and her father told authorities they would not press charges.

In fact, Shellie apparently told officers who responded to her 911 call that "she never saw a weapon," Bracknell says.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, Shellie Zimmerman called 911 and told the dispatcher that George had showed up to her father's home and an altercation soon followed. She said he punched her father. She also said George was threatening them with his gun.

"He's in his car, and he continually has his hand on his gun and keeps saying, 'Step closer,'" Shellie told the dispatcher. "He's just threatening all of us.

"I don't know what he's capable of," she added. "I'm really scared."

But police say George told them Shellie and her father were the aggressors in the altercation. Officers say they are reviewing surveillance video from the house, hoping it caught some of what happened.

Meanwhile, George's attorney, Mark O'Mara, told reporters that his client was the only one who lived in the home and that, even though the house is under his in-law's name, he and Shellie were the only ones living there.

Shellie recently filed for divorce from George.

She also claims that she and George had a big fight on the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

O'Mara told reporters on Monday that George did have his gun during his altercation with Shellie but that it was holstered under his shirt and that he never took it out.

O'Mara confirmed that there was some "pushing and shoving" but that's about it.

He blamed the whole brouhaha on emotions running high.

"They need to just sort of stay away from each other, keep things cool, and work though their attorneys," O'Mara said.

This was just the latest in many an incident Zimmerman has found himself in since he was acquitted for shooting Trayvon Martin.

So much for "laying low."

Among the incidents, Zimmerman was pulled over twice for speeding -- once in Texas and once again here in Florida.

He also apparently saved a family from an accident and was seen buying himself a tactical gun.
