A man was allegedly drunk while riding a horse as he led police on a half-hour chase through Bunnell, Florida.
Charles Larkin Cowart, 29, was arrested Monday afternoon in the city of Bunnell, which is about 60 miles south of Jacksonville, after he led cops on a chase while he rode a horse through town.
According to the charging affidavit, Cowart told a police officer that he was on his way to his grandmother's house. When the cop asked him to dismount, Cowart instead bucked the horse, reared it back, and then took off running.
Sir, please get off the horse.

The police did not go after Cowart right away, for fear of putting people and the horse in danger.
As he made as Lone Ranger through town, Cowart drew crowds of people to witness the spectacle. And he even forced a train to slow down as he and the horse crossed over railroad tracks to make their escape.
For their part, the cops remained patient, turning their emergency lights on but not turning on their sirens so as not to spook the horse. Red and white flashing lights and the constant sound of clip-clop, clip-clop was all there was to be seen and heard.
Cops continued to order Cowart off the horse, but he ignored them, according to the report. But because the horse is a living thing that (A) is not as fast as a car and (B) gets tired, police eventually caught up with Cowart.
He then jumped off his faithful steed and began running. But Cowart is also not faster than police cars, so he was caught.
Cowart was arrested and booked into the Flagler County Jail on charges that included disorderly conduct, resisting arrest without violence, and cruelty to animals. No word on whether the reportedly intoxicated Cowart could also be charged with a DUI. Technically, he wasn't driving. RHUI (Riding a Horse Under the Influence?)
He was being held on $7,000 bond.
