McDonald's Robbery: I Am So Not Lovin' This

It's shaping up to be a bad month for national fast-food franchises. First Pizza Hut gets a visit from a pair of towel-wearing banditos. Now this.

A very similar crime happened Monday at the McDonald's just west of I-95: Another dude with a gun places his order, as in orders a cashier to give him cash from the drawer.

No word on whether Pinkerton's is deploying armed guards to Burger Kings in the area, but it would seem to be a prudent move.

These events, the Juice reminds everyone, tend to happen in threes.

Press release after the jump.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the McDonald's restaurant located at 2300 West Sunrise Boulevard. The robbery took place on Monday, July 12, 2010 at approximately 9:30 A.M.

Detectives have learned that while the business was open a black male suspect entered armed with a gun. The suspect then pointed the gun at the employee behind the counter and demanded money from the cash register. The cash register operator complied with the suspects demands and handed over an unknown amount of cash. The suspect then left the restaurant from the door on the south side. He entered a green Ford Taurus that had missing front hub caps.

The suspect has been described as a black male, approximately 5'6", and was last seen wearing a black tee shirt, blue jeans, he had on black gloves, and covered his face with a blue and black bandana.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is encouraged to contact Detective Justin Moody at 954-828-4018 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
