Joshua Montez, the 17-year-old who is accused of cutting a Royal Palm Beach High assistant principal, will face his charges as an adult.
Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies arrested Montez after a fight broke out at the school, and the assistant principal was injured.
Montez, unlike the other students involved in the fracas, is not enrolled at Royal Palm.

On August 21, a little after 7 in the morning, the assistant principal was monitoring the outside of the school, located on Wildcat Way and Bob White Road, when she saw the group of students fighting.
She tried to break it up, but in the melee, was sliced in the wrist area with either a knife or a box cutter. The school district is categorized the injury as a cut, and not an actual stabbing.
The assistant principal was taken to Wellington Regional Medical Center for treatment soon after, before she returned to work.
At the time of the stabbing, PBSO told New Times that the scene was cleared soon after the incident, and that class schedules were not affected.
The school board worked with PBSO to help identify Montez and, the day following the incident, he turned himself in to police.
Montez stood before Judge Joseph Marx on Thursday morning where he was ordered to be put under in-house arrest.
According to the Palm Beach Post, an assistant state attorney present at the hearing said that, according to his juvenile records, Montez has had a previous assault and battery on school board employees.
Montez's lawyer, meanwhile, reminded the judge that his client had not been arrested since 2009. He also told Judge Marx that he fought to keep the Royal Palm incident a juvenile case.
But, Montez will indeed face charges as an adult.
Montez is officially charged with battery and assault.
