George Zimmerman's brother, Robert Jr., the same guy who went on a rant on his Twitter feed comparing Trayvon Martin to a black Georgia teen accused of killing a baby, decried people using the race card on his bro during a Sunday interview with Piers Morgan.
He also told Morgan that Trayvon was responsible for his own death when his brother disobeyed police, chased Martin down for no reason, and then confronted him and then shot him with his gun.
"By breaking his [George's] nose and pummeling his head into the concrete and continuing to punch him," Robert tells Piers, "He [Trayvon] had the greater hand in his own demise."
Morgan had Robert Jr. on his show the day after the verdict was handed down. And while Morgan has been vocal for his support of Trayvon and his family, he gave Zimmerman opportunity to explain his and his brother's side of the story.
When asked about how George was feeling about the verdict, Robert says, "He is still processing the reality or notion of being a free man, of having what the judge described as no further business before the court."
Zimmerman also tells Morgan that people shouldn't be all cynical when talking about the verdict a few minutes after he condescendingly tells Morgan that the justice system where he comes from might leave people speculating until the end of time.
Not to be outdone by his own lack of self-awareness, and literally not knowing what irony is if it hit him in the face with a bag of Skittles, Zimmerman told Morgan that brother George will now have to worry about "people that take the law into their own hands" for the rest of his life.
You know, vigilantes. Those people that disobey the law and make themselves the law and shoot and kill people even though they're not police officers. Yea, George is going to have to worry about them now, according to Robert.
"There are factions, there are groups, there are people that would want to take the law into their own hands as they perceive it, or be vigilante's in some sense," he says. "They think that justice was not served, they won't respect the verdict no matter how it was reached and they will always present a threat to George and his family."
Zimmerman also blamed the lack of serious discussion on this whole thing on people being so quick to throw down the race card.
He also Tweeted this a few weeks ago.
The irony is strong with this one.
