Two people were shot inside a Cobb Theater in the Tampa area, several media outlets are reporting. According to Pasco County authorities, one of the victims was shot for texting during movie previews during a screening of Lone Survivor.
The shooting went down at the Grove 16 Cobb Theater at State Road 54 on Wesley Grove Blvd at 1:30 p.m. Monday, police say.
According to myfoxtampabay.com, a male suspect is in custody.
Fox 13 is reporting that one of the victims, a male, has died from his wounds.
The second victim, a woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries
According to reports, the victims and the gunman began to argue over the noise the victim's phone made while he texted. An altercation ensued, popcorn was thrown, and shots were fired.
The victim then reportedly said "I can't believe I got shot" as blood came out of his mouth. The victim then collapsed, according to witnesses.
Police say a person in the theater was able to subdue the shooter until police arrived on the scene.
