It seemed an awfully big coincidence: Richard Poplawski, who harbored suspicion toward a government he believed to be controlled by Jews and intent on snatching his guns, moved from his hometown Pittsburgh to Wellington in 2006, not far from the West Palm Beach home base of Stormfront.org, the white nationalist website run by former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard Don Black and his son Derek.
According to an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
In Florida, [Poplawski] seemed to become increasingly radicalized by online discussions with white supremacists. Posting under the name "RichP" on Internet white-power sites such as "Stormfront" in 2006 and later as "Braced for Fate," Poplawski believed that Jews had taken over the federal government and that America was devolving into a "police state."That paranoia culminated in standoff with police Saturday in which Poplawski is alleged to have killed three cops.
Don Black gave the Juice this statement: "We've never met Poplawski, first hearing about him after the shooting."
For those who may have missed it, West Palm-based ABC affiliate WPBF interviewed Poplawski's former landlord. She thought he was "very sweet," right up until he volunteered to babysit her German shepherd, which was gone by the time she returned.
