Allen West, Ted Deutsch Hosting Town Hall Events; Where's Debbie Wasserman Schultz? (UPDATE: She's here)

Update, 4:28 p.m.: Heard back from Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz's spokeswoman; the post, which originally said she didn't have any events scheduled, has been changed to reflect the new info.

Broward and Palm Beach residents will get a chance to talk to their congressional representatives next week. Unless they're represented by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Republican Congressman Allen West announced two upcoming town-hall meetings with constituents this morning after holding two others last month. Democratic Rep. Ted Deutsch is also hosting one next Friday, but Wasserman Schultz is nowhere to be found.

[The post also included a section that said Wasserman Schultz hadn't held a town hall meeting since last September, but spokeswoman Mara Sloan pointed out that there have been "several recent events in the district that have been open to the public."]

Here's the schedule of events:

Rep. Allen West:
  • Monday, March 12, 6 to 8 p.m. at Jupiter Christian School, 700 S. Delaware Blvd., Jupiter.
  • Wednesday, March 14, 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3901 N.E. 22nd Ave., Lighthouse Point.
Rep. Ted Deutsch:
  • Friday, March 16, 10 a.m. at the Mae Volen Senior Center, 1515 West Palmetto Park, Boca Raton. (Note: Deutsch's office has requested people RSVP for the event, listed as "for South Florida seniors," on his website.)
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz:
  • Monday, March 12, 10 a.m. at the Northeast Focal Point Senior Center, 227 N.W. 2nd St., Deerfield Beach. (Note: Sloan describes the event as a meeting "focusing on Medicare fraud and how people can help to prevent it.")
