A crash involving a Palm Tran bus and a pickup truck happened on the 14000 block of Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach shortly before rush hour this morning.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue officials report that 13 people had to be taken to the hospital with head and neck injuries following the collision, including twelve bus passengers and the driver of the Ram 1500 involved in the crash.

According to WPTV-Ch. 5, the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The accident caused traffic gridlock with only one eastbound lane and one westbound lane being open to commuters.

But, as of 9:05 this morning, all lanes of Southern Boulevard have re-opened, and the vehicles involved in the accident have been removed from the scene.

The Palm Tran bus was reportedly rear-ended by the Ram 1500 pickup at around 6:45 a.m. Monday morning.
