Yo. Picture-takers. My bosses want to give you a gig:
Calling all photo students! New Times Broward-Palm Beach is recruiting photography students for its Summer 2012 and Fall 2012 Photo Intern Program.
By "student," we do not mean "a student of life." There's no cash offered with this gig, only credits. Don't bother applying if this doesn't suit you.
Still interested? Read on!
Interns work directly with our art director. They photograph slide shows ranging from concerts to burlesque shows to water-skiing squirrels. They can also shoot weekly assignments for our Pulp, Clean Plate Charlie and County Grind blogs.
Interns who pass muster may also be invited to attend cover shoots. In the past, stellar interns have even photographed covers and cafés for our weekly restaurant review.
It's important that our interns have people skills. Reliable transportation is a must, and we will reimburse for mileage. And sorry, but this party is B.Y.O.E.: Bring Your Own Equipment.
To apply, send a résumé and links/samples to kristin.bjornsen[at]villagevoicemedia.com. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please include "Photo Intern [Semester] 2012" in the subject line.
NOTE, 12:40 p.m.: Some details of this post were changed to reflect more details about the internship.
