Following his guilty plea to fraud charges in connection with a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme, Fort Lauderdale lawyer Scott Rothstein received a sentencing date of May 6. He's hoping for leniency based on his having returned from Morocco and helping investigators identify his collaborators and the stuff he bought with the dirty money. [Miami Herald]

A 15-year-old boy at Atlantic High School in Delray Beach has been charged with aggravated battery for stabbing a fellow student on school grounds earlier this month. The two students were fighting over a hat. [Palm Beach Post]

A married man and woman were found dead in a suburban West Palm apartment, near Forest Hill Boulevard. Police suspect a murder suicide. [WPTV]
Broward County Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin and her husband, Richard, both insisted that the commissioner didn't realize her vote for park grants was a conflict of interest, due to Richard Rubin's generous salary to the Town of Southwest Ranches, which received more than $11 million from the favorable county board votes.
