Here we go again: time to say hello to another workweek. As is usually the case, the weekend probably just seemed to go flying past. Maybe Days of Our Lives was on to someging, "like sands through the hour glass, these are the days of our lives."

Whether you're looking to take a cooking class, drink some wine, dine, or whatever else, there's something that will offer relief from the day-to-day routine -- for, at least, an evening anyway.

Grilling Fish 101
As more and more individuals have started to move away from meat, fish has become an increasingly popular item in health-conscious diets; however, most people won't cook it at home. To help out would-be seafood cooks, Publix Aprons Cooking School is hosting a grilling fish class on Monday at 6 p.m. For $50 per person, instructors will be giving hands on instructions for citrus mahi mahi; southwest salmon over chipotle slaw; Pacific halibut over white bean puree; and cajun cod with crab succotash.

The Beef Class
Whether you consider yourself a carnivore or not, knowing how to prepare a steak never hurt anyone. To brush up on your meat preparation skills, Chef Jean-Pierre's Cooking School is teaching a beef class on Monday at 7:30 p.m. For $70 per person, participants will learn how to make beef stroganoff, the perfect oven roasted steak, and roasted filet mignon.

Dine Out Lauderdale
Starting tonight and running through November 7, Dine Out Lauderdale has brought together 38 local restaurants, including da Campo Osteria, Johnny V, Wild Sea Oyster Bar & Grille, and more with three course menu deals for $35 per person.

Trivia Night
It's been said that drinking damages brain cells. Counteract the damage with trivia during your weeknight sessions. Eating is one of the most pleasurable experiences in life. Eating for a good cause only makes it that much better. On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., the Heart Gallery of Broward County is hosting a wine and food event to benefit children living in foster care. For $50 in advance, guests get to snack and sip on small plates and beverages from more than a dozen local restaurants, wine bars, and beverage distributors. The event is taking place at the Galleria Mall. It includes live music and silent auctions.

By Thursday night it's time to get out of the house. The event is free and open to the public.
