Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The famed Mayo Clinic says that eating breakfast could promote weight loss by jump-starting an adult's metabolism.
Eating breakfast is even more important for children. The Mayo Clinic says that children who eat breakfast are more likely to concentrate better, have better
hand-eye coordination, be more alert, be more creative, and be more physically active.
So, on the first day of FCAT testing, Palm Beach McDonald's restaurants want to help students start out on the right foot.
On Monday, April 15, from 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. all kids taking Florida's Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT for short) are invited to have a free breakfast at any south Florida McDonald's.
The free breakfast includes an Egg McMuffin, a package of apple slices, and either 1% low-fat milk or a small orange juice. The free breakfast offer is available at participating McDonald's restaurants and is valid for in-store dining only (no take-out, folks). Students under age 15 must be accompanied by a parent and be present to receive the free breakfast.
In any event, whether you treat your child to the free McDonald's meal or make a bowl of oatmeal with fruit, send your child off to the FCATs with a healthy meal and a smile.
Updated: Clean Plate Charlie has learned that the free breakfast offer is, indeed, good at participating Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. In addition, the free breakfast is available for teachers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties only.
