If you've ever dreamed of dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, but haven't had the the time (or, let's face it, the spare funds) to travel overseas or cross country, you're in luck. Why? Pretty soon, you won't have to go any further than your own backyard.
No, Florida still doesn't have any Michelin rated eateries -- that right is reserved for Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco only -- but a local restaurant will have some Michelin chefs under its roof for a few nights.
Valentino Cucina Itliana, today known as one of Fort Lauderdale's most innovative and authentic Italian kitchens, is currently offering a special dinner series featuring chefs hailing from some of Europe's most respected establishments.

Valentino chef-owner Giovanni Rocchio recently announced the commencement of an exclusive guest chef pairing dinner series where patrons can get a taste of food prepared by some of the world's most talented chefs.
During February and March, Valentino will be the setting for three culinary adventures where Rocchio and a guest chef will work side-by-side, combining their gastronomic expertise to create a totally unique menu and experience. Each dinner will include a welcome reception, five-course dinner, and wine pairings from different regions of France and Italy.
The first of the guest chef dinner series was unveiled Wednesday, January 7, with Mirazur chef de cuisine Ricardo Chaneton, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Menton, France.
The next dinner will take place on Monday, February 2, with Villa Crespi chef de cuisine Vincenzo Manicone, a two-star Michelin rated restaurant in Piemonte, Italy.
On Monday, February 16, Rocchio will welcome Giancarlo Perbellini, chef-owner of one of Italy's most esteemed restaurants, Ristorante Perbellini, an establishment situated just outside of Verona, Italy.
The final dinner will take place on Monday, March 16, with Fabio Pisani -- chef de cuisine for Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia, another Michelin-starred restaurant located in Milan, Italy.
Each guest chef dinner series costs $295 per person (tax and gratuity included), and begins at 6:30 p.m., followed dinner at 7:30 p.m. Call 954-523-5767, or visit valentinocucinaitaliana.com.
