On October 25, the Fort Lauderdale's Esplanade Park will turn into Beertown USA when New Times' Beerfest comes to town. From 7 to 10 p.m., brew fans will be immersed in beer culture with live music and more than 100 different beers to sample.
New for this year is the limited-edition Brewmaster ticket that allows entry into the festival at 6 p.m. for one extra hour of enjoyment. Brewmasters also get some pretty sweet perks that general-admission ticket holders don't have access to.

Brewmasters will also be able to watch the homebrewers' competition, which features South Florida's best homebrewers in a head-to-head battle for ultimate supremacy. The winner of the competition will spend the day with Jonathan Wakefield of the soon-to-open J. Wakefield Brewing Co. in Miami. Brewmaster ticket holders will also get to sample these beers from 6 to 7 p.m., with each homebrewer having a 20-minute spotlight on his beers.
In addition, Brewmasters (and the lucky people who snagged sold-out VIP tickets) will be able to sample some exclusive beers, poured only from 6 to 7 p.m. So far, the beers showcased include:
- Boulevard Brewing Co.- Love Child
- Saltwater Brewery- Pumpkin
